Clara Ost

Clara Ost has been a CFU missionary for 56 years. Since November of 1959, when she married CFU Missionary John Ost and traveled from Karlstad Minnesota to McAllen, Texas, Clara has given her life to the Mexican, and Mexican-American community. Over the years she pioneered women's ministries in Mexico, held the first Mexican youth camp at her home in McAllen, served as South Texas Area President of Women's Aglow, and has traveled in Mexico ministering primarily to pastors' wives. Clara also served along side her husband as a pastor's wife of Iglesia Bíblica in McAllen, Texas for many years.

Since her husband, John, went to be with Jesus years ago, Clara has continued to minister in monthly ladies' breakfasts in the Iglesia Bíbllica of McAllen, write letters to pastors' wives in Mexico, and participate in CFU staff meetings. She has also begun recording a "Coffee With Clara" podcast in Spanish, and is currently writing a book about her Father: Pastor JA Riveness: "Seasons Of My Father: The remarkable life of a Norwegian-American Pastor through the eyes of his little girl".

Before the pandemic, Clara was able to travel to Oaxaca and Guadalajara, praying for and ministering to pastors' wives in both places.

Clara also enjoys spending time with her 10 grandchildren and taking walks with her faithful dog, Scruffy.
